Chase Bank hired kids off the street to forge foreclosure documents.  They even nicknamed them.  They were called, “The Burger King Kids”.  They signed documents such as affidavits – swearing that they had personal knowledge of the foreclosure on your home – and they signed their names and titles such as Vice President.  The burger king kids were called as such because some of them previously had worked in the fast food industry.

  •  In the foreclosure industry, robo-signing is the practice of a bank employee signing thousands of documents and affidavits without verifying the information contained in the document or affidavit.
  •  Testimony and affidavits have presented information that these bank employees were often nothing more than minimum wage employees working as document signers, using the titles of vice presidents for a multitude of banks all in the same day.
  •  Some reports have revealed that one “bank official” performed the task of signing off on almost 10,000 documents in one month. The practice calls into question the validity of thousands of mortgage foreclosures across the country.

When the practice recently came to light, four major banks, J.P. Morgan Chase, Ally Financial/GMAC, Bank of America and Wells Fargo all called a halt to foreclosure actions in 23 states. In the days following their announcements, Bank of America ceased foreclosures in all 50 states.

Today, any foreclosure documents must be reviewed for possible robo-signed signatures.
